Hi, I have been searching and searching for an African word for "grandmother." If possible, could you please tell me an easy to pronounce word for grandmother--preferrably one used in Ghana or Sinagal (please forgive my spelling) Seira Leon.

means "grandlparent" in Wolof (spoken in Sénégal.)
Hausa (spoken in Ghana, Niger, elsewhere) would be my first choice, because of the extent of the language, but I have no Hausa dictionary on hand. (And my Hausa-speaking friend is out of town. :)
