English term or phrase: a stroke collar
the said "stroke" collar can be dangerous for dogs
Isabelle Garnier
French translation:"collier etrangleur"
Explanation:
I think that there is a mistake in the english text. The expression should be "choke collar" rather than "stroke collar". Choke collar is translated by "collier etrangleur".
I read that the choke collar can be dangerous if the dog is left with it unattended, as it can catch on a root or something in his environment and choke the dog. Some people also find it objectionable as aggressive and barbarian a way to train a dog.

Indeed I checked and it was "choke" collar and not "stroke". It was a mistake in the text.

Collier étrangleur

Explanation:

Explanation:
nothing new... just to confirm.. a "stroke collar": un collier pour chien sur lequel il y a un système de picots qui s'enfoncent dans la chair du chien lorsque celui-ci tire dessus. Un peu cruel, non?
