see below Explanation: Ok. I'll give this a try: One: un (say Huh?, but take away the initial H and the question mark. This is almost like the sound of "un") Two: deux (a bit like the sound "duh") Three: trois (tr wah) Four: quatre (cat rrr) Five: cinq (to make the sound "in" try saying "rain", but remove the "n" at the end. Now replace the sound "r" with the sound "s" at the beginning and add the sound "k" at the end) Six: six (pronounced as the first syllable of "cisco", at least in French Canada. The French would pronounce it more as the English "ee" sound, but much shorter.) Seven: sept (pronounced as in "set") Eight: huit (to make the sound "u" you have to say "ee". Then, keep the inside of your mouth the way it is, and make your lips say the sound "oo". Then, add the sound "it" to it [or a short "eet" if you want the France pronounciation]. There you have it: huit. Don't pronounce the "h") Nine: neuf (try saying "er...", as when you don't know what to say. That is approximately the sound for "eu". Then add the "n" and the "f" sounds.) Ten: dix ( as in "disco" or again, the short sound "deess" for the France pronounciation.) I hope this helps you. :-) |
