English term or phrase: underdog
Also called underduck in some places. This is the action of pushing a children swing so high one can run underneath in the process. I used swing a lot as a child, and used them with my children, but I do not think I ever heard a French equivalent. At the moment, as a placeholder, I used a "passe-dessous" (yuck).

plongeon (de poussée), plongeon-poussée

Explanation:
If you really need a French term.

Not in the sense of diving or jumping but more like to move quickly downwards with your hands forwards.

For example we may use "plonger dans" for "reach into" when we try to touch something, but here you don't just get or touch but push indeed, so I also suggest "plongeon-poussée" which would combine both ideas.

It would work as a compound word where "plongeon" is the first action as in "laisser-passer". Here, you duck then you push.

Alternatively, you might say "plongeon de poussée" where "de poussée" means "pushing".

Plonger
Se courber (se baisser), se jeter à plat ventre, s'enfoncer dans ou sur quelque chose
Synonymes : Passer, se jeter, jeter, descendre, précipiter

Duck:

In this Belgian dictionary, we note that they translate "duiken, dook" as "plonger, se courber en avant", which is very similar to "duck" in English.

> Duck under / Duck under the swing
> Plongée sous la balançoire

Jeu d'enfants. L'un pousse l'autre sur la balançoire puis s'accroupit ou s'étend en vitesse pour qu'au retour, la balançoire passe au-dessus de lui sans l'effleurer. Le jeu peut aussi consister à pousser l'autre puis à marcher en petit bonhomme sous la balançoire, en aller-retour, en sens inverse au mouvement de celle-ci.

agree  Gilles Wandel: Je garderais aussi tel quel. D'autant plus que le terme est expliqué dans le texte même.
