English term or phrase: single section-sewn
Bonsoir,

je ne parviens pas à déterminer ce que signifie "single-section sewn". Pour "section sewing", le GDT propose un "couture par section" qui n'a pas l'air vraiment dans l'usage. Se pourrait-il que l'ouvrage soit cousu "en une seule section"?

"A stiff white enveloppe [...] I pull out a jacketed single section-sewn booklet."

Il s'agit d'une description d'un livret d'artiste sorti par l'imprimeur suisse Typotron. Merci d'avance pour votre aide.

un livret aux cahiers cousus
Explanation:
You need to be careful where you put the hyphen! Also, you have parsed the sentence incorrectly: "a jacketed single section-sewn booklet" = one booklet that is jacketed and section-sewn.

Admittedly, it would have been clearer as: "a single, jacketed, section-sewn booklet". However, the use of the hyphen in the ST makes it clear that "section-sewn" is an adjective qualifying "booklet".

Merci BD.
Notes to answerer
Asker: That's right, B D. I put the hyphen incorrectly in one of the occurrences. One should read "single section-sewn" as in the title of this thread.
