SECTION 3: TENURE ASSESSMENT OF DWELLING

1[Tenure]. Now I’d like to ask you a few questions about your home. How long have you personally lived in this dwelling?
Expected future tenure: ]How long do you think you will continue to live here? Your best estimate is fine. Please code response into higher category if it lies exactly on the threshold. For e.g. if respondent says 5 years please code as Between 5 and 10 years.

évaluation de la durée d'occupation du logement
Explanation:
as in:

How long have you personally lived in this dwelling?

IOW HERE it's not about the legal basis for occupying the property (ownership, renting etc ...) which is another possible meaning.

... that might well be in fact the intended meaning IF you take into account the other question that is also about "tenure", and very likely to be under the same title:

it would confirm my first impression, that here "tenure" is not only used in the sense of "how long have you been living there?" but also about "on what legal grounds?"

"mode de possession / occupation (?) du logement" (établir / évaluer / enquête sur / constater l'état des faits concernant / ...)

neutral  Germaine: Dans le titre, il s'agit bien du "mode de possession". "How long..." has nothing to do with it. // Please see discussion.

-> given more context - the other related question - the intended meaning is clearer./"mode de possession" is surely one meaning but not THE meaning - it's often used as a shortcut for "length of tenancy" (as usual, context can twist meanings )

disagree  GILOU: c'est une étude, rien à voir avec une évaluation, relisez vos notes

-> Making a difference between the whole document and just a section of it shouldn't be a too complicated concept, at least not for a protein-based translation device ... Anyway "караван иде даље" ...
