English term or phrase: MI #
Hello,

In the header of a driving record issued by the DMV of the state of NY, one line is unclear to me:

MI # : Fxxxxx xxxxx xxxxxx-xx

It could be Motorist ID, but acronym would then be MID (well, to me).

Thank you for your help

Explanation:
As from what I understand in the explanations on the DMV page, you are right thinking it should be motorist ID. Here is what is says:
Header
The "Header" section includes the individual's
name
mailing address (City, State, ZIP Code)
mailing county
DMV ID Number (Client ID Number) from your NYS driver license, learner permit or non-driver photo ID card
motorist ID
date of birth
sex
height
eye color
