English term or phrase: proven track record
A company refers to its "proven track record" as a reference for its reliability and compentence.

I think I understand what this means, but what would be a proper German expression for it?

Thanks,

Verena

German translation:see below
Explanation:
1. What it means: It means the company
is for quite some time successfully in
business, is known for its reliability,
good workmenship, has references to prove it etc.
2. Track ist gewoehnlich in diesem Falle
mit "Laufbahn" zu uebersetzen.
Literally.: ein nachweisbares Laufbahnzeugnis oder so;
Also: Die Firma hat sich in ihrer Taetigkeit "bewiesen." Oder: ihre Faehigkeiten unter Beweis gestellt
I can't think of an exact equivalent
in German. Therefore, I would translate
it as follows: nachweisbarer/langzeitiger Erfolg im Geschaeft/ lange Bestaendigkeit im Geschaeft als Nachweis/Beweis fuer ihre Zuverlaessigkeit und Faehigkeit.

I hope the suggestions help.
