W/O = without

In diesem Kontext müßte es also heißen:

...(ohne Voraufwendungen und aufgeschobene Erträge)

Durch die merkwürdige Wortstellung soll dieser Hinweise vielleicht besonders hervorgehoben werden.

While I at first glance agreed with Rainer's explanation, on second thought I have my doubts. In American balance sheets, "ohne" is always stated as "excluding". I tend to think that W/O in this context connotes something else but I'm not sure what. It appears to me that the positions in parantheses refer to current uncompleted work orders (Werksaufträge). Preliminary expenses would show "Vorkosten", whereas deferred revenues would refer to "Erlösabgrenzung". On the whole, this would make sense and also account for the peculiar word order that Rainer was referring to. The ultimate solution to this riddle can probably be found in the context. If the document is British, then it would be an entirely new deck of cards.

Good luck!
