English term or phrase: Manufacturer Price Increase (MPI) vs. Manufacturer's Take
Hello,

I'd be grateful if someone could explain to me the difference between MPI (Manufacturer Price Increase) and "Manufacturer's take" if there is one. The context I have is this:

"Manufacturer's Take is the actual amount that a manufacturer cashes in from selling his products. The Manufacturer Price Increase (MPI) is the price hike motivated by a rise in manufacturer's take."

To me the MPI and the "Manufacturer's Take" sound like they are the same thing: the manufacturer wants more profit so he raises the price of his products, thus his "take" is bigger. Or is there a subtle difference? How would you translate MPI vs. Manufacturer's Take?

Thanks in advance!
