A bond or note rated Baa or higher by Moody's, BBB or higher by Standard & Poor's, or comparably by other rating agencies. See Table of Bond Ratings (Appendix).
Investment GradeBonds considered to be safe investments. They carry credit ratings of BBB/Baa or above from the credit rating agencies, who do not consider the issuers likely to default.
