Unter diesem Link ist aber leider nichts zu manifestation zu finden, und ich habe Schwierigkeiten mit der Übersetzung. Demonstration(en), Erscheinungsform(en), ...?

Oder vielleicht halt doch einfach manifestation. Dieses Wort hat zahrreiche Bedeutungen wie Kundgebung, Ofenbarwerden, Sichtbarwerden. im Beispiel (auch Human Rights Watch, Indonesien) http://www.indonesiamatters.com/1788/jakarta-riots/ ist es letzteres.

agree  British Diana: I think this is the best bet. In French "manifestation" means demonstration or event, maybe someone was thinking half-French. Kundgebung fits a lot of things, too
