Sell-Out

I know this is going to get the purists up in arms, but if your text caters for a [semi-] professional audience, you might want to use the English term "sell out" in its Germanised version - this is exactly what a broker, for instance, would talk about to an institutional investor or experienced retail customer.

=> "Nach einem gründlichen Sell-Out im Laufe der nächsten Tage ist von einer überverkauften Marktsituation auszugehen."

Reduzierung / Fehlerfolg

That is the closest I can come to an answer that seems to make sense.
"washout" usually refers to a reduction of something through washing, such as minerals that are washed out of the earth (Reduzierung).
But it is also used colloqually. A washout for instance is someone who fails, for instance in an examination or test (Fehlerfolg).

I have a feeling that your context goes about shares and their evaluation. SO in that instance this could also be "Rückfall", i.e. decrease in value of the strongly selling shares.
