Hallo liebe Übersetzer,

dieser Ausdruck in einem Kaufvertrag bereitet mir Kopfzerbrechen. Vielleicht ist es ja etwas ganz Banales, ich halte mich mit Deutungsversuchen aber lieber zurück. Das englische "Original" ist selbst übrigens auch eine Übersetzung.

Dies ist der Kontext:
"Payment shall be made within the agreed payment period, after the Purchaser shall have received the delivery and the invoices, without prejudice to that determined in Article 10. Credit limit supplements applied by the Vendor shall not be accepted."

Muss zugeben habe ich noch nie gehoert. Vom Sinn her denke ich, dass es sich hier um eine Aufstockung des Kreditlimits fuer den Kaufer handelt, d.h. Kreditaufstockungen seitens des Verkaeufers werden nicht als Zahlung anerkannt.

Supplement, kann ja auch Aufstockung heissen. In 'richtigem Englisch' wuerde das dann doch eher 'Credit Limit Increase' heissen, vielleicht ist das ja ein Uebersetzungsfehler.

Vielleicht hilft dir das.

Asker: Hallo Annett, danke für deine Hilfe. Ich hatte etwas Derartiges vermutet, obwohl ich mich frage, warum der Käufer das in einem von ihm aufgesetzten Vertrag verbieten sollte. Aber das werden wir wohl nie erfahren. Übersetzungen von Übersetzungen sind eine undankbare Sache ...
