Hi,

I´m translating a document about Key Account Management and I´m struggling with the term "account", because I fin that its meaning changes according to the Kontext:
the opinion a key account has: die Meinung eines GROSSKUNDENS
but then: understand, lead, organize the account

At the moment my closest options are: Konto, Abrechung, Berechnung, Bericht...

Any tips?

Explanation:
Das hieß schon vor 30 Jahren in Werbeagenturen so. Ein Account ist einfach ein Kunde, für den mehr oder weniger regelmäßig Projekte abgewickelt werden, ob das auf Projektbasis oder per Jahresbudget erfolgt. In der Buchhaltung hat der Kunde eine eigene Kundennummer. In der Werbersprache heißt es beispielsweise "auf einem Account arbeiten", wenn ein Team diesen bestimmten Kunden kontinuierlich betreut.

Ein Key Account ist in der Tat ein Großkunde.

Gegenbeispiel:

Ein Unternehmen, das bei einer Agentur/einem Hersteller/einem Vertriebsunternehmen etwas als einmaligen Einzelauftrag bestellt, ist zwar ein Kunde, aber noch lange kein Account. Account drückt Regelmäßigkeit aus.
