English to German translations [PRO]
Names (personal, company)
English term or phrase: nevskii prospekt
...and other russian street names. I have found the spelling variants newski, nevsky, newskij, nevskij and I'm probably forgetting some others...
Personally, my feeling favors newski or newskij, but is there any "standard" way of spelling these in German? Thanks!

Newskij Prospekt
Explanation:
This is the commonly used German spelling ( i.e. in German translations of Russian literature). (I wrote my PHD thesis on Dostojewski)

Onkels Johannes Wolf unter dem Namen "Wolf und Béranger" (französisierte Form von B.) am Newskij Prospekt 18
übernommen hatte. In diesem Literatencafé verkehrten alle bedeutenden Dichter von Puschkin bis Dostojewski.

seems to deliver the better results.
If you replace the "Newsky" in Google with the other variations, you get some other sites, that do not appear to reflect German spelling.
