: Das ist "der" in den Industrie dafür verwendete Term: Luft, die durch Undichtigkeiten in das System eingesaugt wird, die aber dort im Prinzip nichts zu suchen hat (wenn bei einem Vergaserauto Falschluft eingesagt wurde, lief das Auto nicht rund)

I think the emphasis appears to be on that the air is not real, and created by the fans, thus "kunstlich" would seem to fit better.
