There is nothing in any of my dictionaries or the Internet for "bide" or "biding" except together with "time" meaning to "wait", which probably has no relationship to your context. Possibly, there is an "n" missing, because "binding" would make some sense in a text about bearings. The translation would then be something with the gerund forms of the verbs "sperren, klemmen, blockieren, stecken bleiben or festsitzen" according to Ernst – Wörterbuch der industriellen Technik.
