English term or phrase: alarm, alert, collection station, map
This is all about networking.
I don't how to differentiate between alarm and alert.
Is collection station to be left in English or is "Sammelstation" also understood?
Maps are a graphical representation of a network. Do I use the German "Karte" here?

Explanation:
I think alarm and alert differ mainly in the degree of malfunction or danger. So I would propose the terms Vorwarnung or Alarmbereitschaft for alert and Warnung or Alarm for alarm. There was no context so I can't tell if there could be any differentiation between an internal and an external effect, e.g. an alarm message on the server or a light blinking on a local panel, and an alert message being sent out to other places. If this could be the case, please give me context...
I'm not sure about Sammelstation without context.
For map, I would use Plan especially if it is inside a building. Karte ,can be ok if it is outside, covering a larger area.

Sammelstation, Site Map, Alarm/Benachrichtigung/Meldung

Explanation:
Hope this helps.
