There are two ways to say this in German

1. To someone your own age, a friend-
Hallo Wie gehts?

2. To a stranger, a person in authority
Guten morgen, Wie geht es Ihnen?

Hallo, wie geht es Dir (Ihnen) !

It depends on whether you know the other person very well (e.g. as a good friend)or just as an acquaintance.

If you know the other person very well it would be: Hallo, wie gehts! or
Hallo, wie geht es Dir!

It you don't know the other person so well it would have to be:

Hallo, wie geht es Ihnen!

The second one is a more formal approach.
