agree  Epameinondas Soufleros: Μάλλον "φαινομενική" θα έλεγα παρά "υποτιθέμενη" ("presumed"). Εναλλακτικά: "για τη φενάκη της κοινωνικής αναγνώρισης" ή "…του κοινωνικού στάτους".

  -> "Φαινομενική κοινωνική αναγνώριση" ως σύνολο ακούγεται λίγο...περίεργο, αν και καταλαβαίνω γιατί το λες. Óσο για τη "φενάκη", παραείναι ιδεολογικά φορτισμένη και ξεφεύγει από τον τόνο του κειμένου. "Στάτους" ή επίσης "κοινωνική καταξίωση".
