English to Hebrew translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / Food production
English term or phrase: Former
This is an important part of any bag packing/filling machine -
where plastic/film bags are filled with food dropped into them.

The former creates the bag open, I guess.
Bag = שקית

"Former" comes from forming - creating a bag out of a roll of film.

See here (http://www.patentgenius.com/patent/6895729.html):

1. A method of forming a bag comprising the steps of: (a) providing a tube of material that will be used to form the body of the bag; (b) positioning the tube of materialabout a former; (c) closing a portion of the tube to form the bottom closure seam of the bag; (d) folding a portion of the closed tube around a portion of the former to define a rim and a bottom wall by pivoting crimping fingers into the closed portionof the tube; (e) welding at least one portion of the rim and, (f) filling the tube with material after step (d).

Explanation:

http://www.orenpack.co.il/m1.html use "מכונה לביצוע שקיות" which sounds stilted to me.
I would use the root ע.צ.ב
