English term or phrase: statistical fluke
All of us who were following this realized that this was not a routine occurrence, or a statistical fluke. We never would have predicted anything like this. Every time we were gathered in a staff meeting or party, the subject of this child came up, and we argued about it a lot.

Explanation:
Don't need to follow the literal translation and say statistical in Hebrew.
I've never heard people say it in conversation. Maybe in an academic article.
It's a phrase, that basically means that this was pure luck and nothing else.

"פליטת פה" סטטיסטית

Explanation:
בעצם מדובר בשגגה או בטעות או בתוצאה סטטיסטית אקראית ולא מבוססת. בסלנג בעברית אומרים: התפלק: נפלט או נאמר בצורה לא רצונית או לא מבוקרת. מכאן ההצעה להשתמש במונח פליטת פה.
