-------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 óra (2008-01-20 23:04:13 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Néhány webhely, ahol ilyen értelemben használják a "network scale" kifejezést: "Since we can't just plop the printer on the system bus, we need some sort of communication setup. A classification of distances ... * kilometer to thousands of kilometers scale; also known as the WAN and geographical network scale. At this scale, propagation delay becomes milliseconds; this is compounded with processing delays along the line (the signal usually goes through a lot of apparatus), and brings to round trip times on the seconds scale. To your CPU this is eternity. Again, imagine that you are connecting to a site on the other site of the ocean via a satellite bounce. A geostationary satellite is at approximately 36.000 kilometers from earth. This alone means over 0.4 seconds of round-trip time. The network is comprised of layers, and decisions will need to be made on several things per layer." http://www.more.net/technical/research/network/bestpractices... "The Active Directory: Overview Rather than avoid the implications of rapidly escalating network scale and complexity, Microsoft's Active Directory embraces it." http://www.networkcomputing.com/netdesign/1013nt5.html "In many ways the notion of grid computing is evolutionary rather than revolutionary. It neatly captures the existing technology trend toward networked computing, the attributes that network-scale “systems” can deliver, the set of mechanisms that will enable them, and the desire for ubiquity and predictability in delivering business services through IT, all within a single, coherent context." http://www.acmqueue.org/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage... |
