Reference: What is a compensated pass?

Reference information:
It varies from uni to uni what their policy is regarding fails, as some universities give you a straight fail (anything below 40%) where you would have to resit (e.g. if the course is accredited and requires passes in every assessment), but some universities have compensatory fails where anything from 30-39% [percentages vary] can be compensated for so you pass that module without having to resit. Usually this is limited to 40 credits per year, but as said previously it depends on your uni regarding their policies on assessment.
