Di nulla. In realtà "stub pipe" (che significa letteralmente "tubo a mozzicone", "mozzicone/moncone di tubo") corrisponde semplicemente a "tronchetto", cioè una parte molto corta di un sistema di tubazioni, utilizzata come punto di ingresso o di uscita per liquidi o gas. Quindi il significato di "tronchetto di scarico" che hai riportato per il dizionario tecnico mi sembra riduttivo, perché, come appare chiaro anche dal tuo testo, questo tipo di tubazione non è utilizzata solo per lo scarico e l'uscita di fluidi (cioè liquidi o gas), ma anche per il loro l'ingresso. Tant'è vero che il tuo testo parla di "inlet/outlet/exhaust stub pipes". Nella mia stessa prima nota aggiunta alla risposta, infatti, ho già indicato questi significati specifici. Quindi, può essere definito "tronchetto di scarico" solo quello indicato come "exhaust pipe".
