Il significato di rebound è quello di un prezzo di un titolo che sale fino a toccare una resistenza o scende fino a toccare un supporto, si dice che il supporto o la resistenza in questione vengono testati: viene messa alla prova la loro solidità. Se sono in grado di reggere il movimento in ascesa o in discesa dei prezzi si avrà un rimbalzo, altrimenti il supporto o la resistenza verranno sfondati e sostituiti da nuove resistenze o supporti.
