Descrizione di una zona di Tokyo nel XIX secolo riprodotta in un museo.

There are a total of 1500 figurines in this display, giving us a sense of the bustle and life that filled this area. The wide street was designed to stop the spread of fire, and along the broad avenue, visitors would have found tea stands and hairdressers, and could have watched acrobats and kabuki performances.

Food stalls sold sushi, tempura, eel, melons, and gourds, and street merchants sold flowers, lanterns, and other goods as buskers, minstrels, and troubadours performed among them. During the summer, people would enjoy fireworks displays from boats on the river, as **skips** selling goods and fireworks ships weaved among them.
