Nella logica di programmazione, "rung" viene tradotto con "ramo". Ho trovato anche il source in inglese del link:

Confronta (per esempio) pag. 40 dell'inglese con pag. 47 dell'italiano.
Anche "branch" può essere tradotto con "ramo", ma nel testo che proponi, lo tradurrei con "diramazione":

Marks the beginning of a new branch on a rung. >> Segna l'inizio di una nuova diramazione sul ramo.
