Il trust è uno strumento legale del diritto anglosassone, assimilabile alla nostra gestione fiduciaria, che permette l'intestazione della proprietà ad un soggetto,il trustee (fiduciario), nell'interesse di altra persona o persone. Di solito si fa ricorso al trust per la gestione anonima di grandi patrimoni finanziari. In Italia questi patrimoni vengono intestati e gestiti da società fiduciarie, solitamente emanazione di banche e/o gruppi bancari, che garantiscono il più completo anonimato ai propri clienti, tranne che in presenza di provvedimenti della Magistratura. Il termine trust protector indica, come potrai rilevare dai link sotto,un soggetto scelto dal settlor (colui che crea un trust) per controllare la gestione del trust nell'interesse dei beneficiari. In definitiva, è una figura morale di controllo dell'operato del gestore.
