English term or phrase: unsafe sentence
I am presuming this refers to the verdict, and again i am presuming it is the judge who overturns the jury's verdict if he/she thinks it is unsafe, as the term unsafe sentence, i could only find a reference as unsafe verdict. but i can't find an equivalent in italian, although as far as i understand in italy there is not an actual lay people jury, but jurors are called in, some of them selected and made into giudici di pace, or something like that. in any case, in italy, there only needs to be a majority verdict, which makes it even more complicated. but in any case, this term appears to be only related to indictment courts with jury, so i presume the jury gives the verdict and then the judge gives the sentence, which is even more confusing, as i can't find anything for unsafe sentence.
