Secondo me ha ragione Matilde. Non si tratta di "source patient", ma semplicemente della "sorgente" di emissione dei raggi.

Tanto per imbrogliarti ancora di più le cose, ti posso dire che "gantry" sembra aver preso piede in inglese (orribile, no!?).
