The whole context is: "It offers closed membrane presses, slotted or open membrane presses, and basket presses in a broad variety of capacities.", I translated with "La societ� offre presse a membrana chiuse, dotate di fessure o aperte e presse alimentate con cesti di un'ampia variet� di capacit�.", but I do not much like the result. I am not an expert and I am not so sure of the terminology used, though checked with resources found in google. Most of all I think to have understood that presses feeded with baskets where the grapes are inserted can be an existig equipment, but I would like to have a confirmation from a colleague expert in the field. If possible if further mistakes are detected in my translation I would kindly ask to indicate them to me. Thank you very much for any help in advance

Qui, i termini "basket presses" pare siano usati, oltre che per distinguere quel tipo di pressa da quello a sistema pneumatico, anche per specificare la sua apparenza.
In Italia, quando si tratta della pressa del primo tipo, tendono a specificare soprattutto se è a sistema idraulico o a quello oleodinamico.
Se invece si volesse proprio specificare l'apparenza, suppongo si possa dire "presse con gabbia".

Io penso che "gabbia" si usi più frequentemente che "cestello", e tante volte anche quando il pezzo è in acciaio.

credo sia meglio tradurre "presse (o torchi) con cestelli"
Se il cestello è formato da doghe si può chiamare anche gabbia, se invece è in acciaio va bene il termine cestello. Ti linko un'immagine di basket press in legno e una in acciaio

agree  Saralan (X): sì, hai ragione per quanto riguarda la spiegazione, ma io ho preferito cestello anche perchè mi sembrava più vicino al termine basket, ma non sono esperta in materia di vinificazione

  -> grazie, anch'io ho provato a fare delle ricerche con "cestello". Mentre con "pressa gabbia" si trovavano i documenti relativi alle presse per la vinificazione, con "pressa cestello" si spuntavano di più quelli riguardanti macchinari degli altri settori.
