appropriate technology 適正技術 or 低環境負荷技術 環境配慮技術 環境調和技術 Explanation: I received my Masters Degree from a program that focuses on Appropriate Technology solutions in developing regions, and have looked this term up in Japanese many times. In Japanese, you sometimes see 適正技術, but the term often appears in brackets 「適正技術」, and I haven't come across a Japanese person that is familiar with the term without providing an explanation (granted, the same might be said for English speakers as well!) Anyways, the following terms are much more common for describing simple technological applications with low environmental impact that are appropriate for situations lacking 'modern' forms of access to power, water and resources: 環境調和技術 環境配慮技術 低環境負荷技術 you sometimes see these terms with 「型」 as well: 環境調和型技術 環境配慮型技術 Hope this helps. |
