Nušalinimas, atleidimas

Explanation:
Suspension - nušalinimas, atleidimas, laikinas nutraukimas, sustabdymas, sulaikymas
to suspend - pristabdyti, sulaikyti, nutraukti, atidėti, laikinai atleisti

The translation would be:
Jūsų sūnus (duktė) vienai dienai yra atleistas nuo pamokų.
School in this context - "pamokos", not "mokykla".

laikinai pašalinta(s) iš mokyklos

Explanation:
"atleistas nuo pamokų" is what we use to say when a student is relieved due to sickness or something. because "atleisti" means to "relieve"

I'd say "Jūsų vaikas yra vienai dienai pašalintas iš mokyklos" I think this translation is pretty good.

-> yes. why not? maybe pašalintas nuo pamokų WOULD be OK, if suspension didn't mean that a student is banned from entire campus for that period of time
