(os = estuary)

'Os' and 'banke' (not 'bank') are probably old Norwegian words, but I think 'mudder' comes from Low German. If you want more information about Old Norse, you could ask the Icelandic community. Modern Icelandic is much closer to Old Norse than Modern Norwegian is.
