envy and idleness married together beget curiosity پیوند حسد و سستی و محصول آن شد تجسس در امور این و آن Explanation: I would like to translate it in verse so that not to lessen the majesty of language. It is also possible to translate using دیگران، پیون حسد و سستی و محصول آن شد تجسس در امور دیگران Fortunately Persian language is a rich language which has the potentiality to make such verses, while completely preserving the meaning. In this way not only the majesty of language is not lessened but also increased. As we have some idiomatic expressions translated into verse such as: "A person is known by the company he keeps." ترجمه: «شخص به اطرافیانش شناخته می شود» مترادف فارسی: «تو اول بگو با کیان دوستی پسآنگه بگویم که تو کیستی» سعدی or consider this one: “Those who live in glass house should not throw stones” تو كه بر بام خود آينه داري چرا بر بام مردم مي زني سنگ -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs (2011-04-28 20:04:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Please notice that the above mentioned translation is in verse as the following: پیوند حسد و سستی و محصول آن شد تجسس در امور این و آن |
