English term or phrase: backtack
What does it mean?

It is used in an instruction manual to a sewing maching (lockstitch machine), e.g.:

"Reverse sewing or intermediate backtack within the seam"
"Switch off backtack function for one tack"

I understand that "tack" means "fastryga, fastrygować", but what does "backtack" mean?
