chuppah Explanation: a chuppah is a canopy, under which the bride and groom stand to be married. I don't know Polish, but I can't think a specific word exists, as 'Chuppah' is a Hebrew word and is used in every language... Usually the spelling will be changed to make it pronounceable by native speakers (e.g. in French it is written 'Houpah' or 'Khoupah', In Spanish it is written 'Xuppa'...). The 'Ch' is pronounced like in German. What kind of document are you translating? |
