English term or phrase: Saddle bag-type fuel tank
Esse termo se encontra na seguinte frase "On vehicles with saddle bag - type fuel tank fuel is constantly transferring from side to side". Alguém poderia me ajudar?

tanque de combustível bipartido
Explanation:

The E30 (3-series 84-91), E36 (3-series 92-98) and E46 (3-series 99-05) models all use a “saddle bag” type fuel tank. The tank straddles the driveshaft and has compartments on the left and right sides of the driveshaft (under the rear seat). 3-series models through 1987 (and 90-91 318i/is/ic) have the two tanks connected via a hose or pipe at the bottoms of the tanks and, therefore, only require one fuel level sending unit. Starting in 1988 (except 318i models through 91), the left and right sides are separated from each other and use a siphon method to transfer fuel from the left to the right sides (the pump is in the right side). Each side has its own sending unit for the fuel level.
