Both are alternatives to institutionalised care.

A group home is where the children live together, in small groups, with a house 'parent/parents'. The idea is that they live as if in a family. The focus is on emulating family life.

Community residence is pretty much the same thing by another name, again the focus is on non-institutional care, and here the focus is on 'living in the community' as opposed to 'outside' it in an institution.

The emphasis in the first therefore is 'family' life, and in the second, living within the community
