my name in quechua - andrea -
Andrea

Explanation:
Hi Andrea,

Thank you for your question. I have asked around and there is no direct translation for Andrea into Quechua. The newer generation of Quechua speakers have modern names such as Jhon and Davis and probably Andrea.

A good way to go about getting a direct translation would be to find out what your name means in English or Spanish and then I could ask around and find out the translation into Quechua.

I hope that this helps,

Jeff

Andrea,

As I said earlier names like yours are given to children to make them more modern. In the Andes where they speak Quechua they sometimes add the ending CHA at the end of a name to make it Quechuan. Your name may be Andreacha. The ending CHA is also an affectionate form to name people.

Some other examples include:

Armida = Armidacha
Rosa = Rosacha
Claudia = Claudiacha
Juan = Juancha
Pedro = Pedrucha (The O is substituted for a U for phonetic reasons)
John = Jhon = Jhoncha
Elvis = Elvischa
Davis = Davischa

Paqarinkama, (Hasta manana; Until tomorrow)
