In certain situations you have what we call a standoff, where you have the defendant in your scoop but he may be locked in a car and you may not be able to get him out. Primarily you don’t just want to rush right in because he could have a gun or anything and could shoot one of your agents.

neutral  Ruxi: La "Mexican standoff am ajuns si eu, dar m-am uitat si la wiki in alte limbi.Impas nu mi s-a parut varianta optima, dar ma rog. Unii chiar nu traduc termenul, il lasa asa. Este un termen consacrat.
