Deci o linie spectrala pe care ne asteptam sa o gasim foarte subtire (sa reprezinte o anume lungime de unda) va fi datorita temperaturii ridicate a gazului intinsa catre lungimile de unda vecine. Este ceea ce se numeste “broadening” largirea liniei spectrale.
