English term or phrase: established SMEs
Perhaps the most important issue is whether employment growth rates *** for established SMEs ***exhibit north-south differences of the type seen with new firm formation.

Most explanations for the better employment performance of *** established SMEs *** in the south-east focus on 'resource munificence' arguments which include industrial structure (particularly the concentration of fast growing service sector firms), the buoyancy of local markets, easier access to labour, capital and other factors of production, and the existence of a supportive network of other small firms.
