вместо "матрицы" также используется термин "матрикс", но матрица мне больше нравится.:)

Естественно, что в лекарственной форме комбинированного препарата матрица может быть только одна, а не две или больше, поэтому ясно, что "single" здесь относится только к лекарственной форме и ни в коем случае не к матрице.
