Asker: Hvala, i ja sam tako mislila, ali nisam bila sigurna da li možda postoji i neka „zvaničnija“ formulacija.

Asker: Uzgred, „after 5.5 months continuous work“ se odnosi na „paid leave“, a ne na „mid term leave“. Po meni, „mid term leave“ je u stvari izuzetak „approved in emergency situation”.

Ovo je više kao orijentir nego kao najsrećnije rešenje. Poenta je da je ovde akcenat u vremenu kada se to eventualno odsustvo uzima, te stoga ‘midterm’ (i.e. halfway point of…) inače bi bilo ‘compassionate/emergency leave’, itd.
Nema 'zvaničnog' termina kod nas jer naš zakon o radu taj termin ne prepoznaje

Asker: Hvala; međutim, nisam baš sigurna da bi se ovde moralo strogo pridržavati osnovnog značenja: midterm - in the <b>middle</b> of the period, već možda pre to shvatiti u smislu kao npr. „ u periodu između dva redovna godišnja odmora“ - nisam sigurna da je i en. tekst baš savršen, tj. da ga je pisao baš „native speaker“. Takođe ne vidim zašto bi to važilo samo u prvoj godini, a i nešto vrlo slično ipak postoji i kod nas (v. Discussion).
