Milk gone off

pokvarjeno mleko

Milk gone off

Glagol to go off (If food or drink goes off, it is not good to eat or drink any more because it is too old) ni isto kot skisati se (zaradi vrenja postati kisel: na toplem se mleko skisa; vino se skisa) oz. go/turn sour (Having a taste characteristic of that produced by acids; sharp, tart, or tangy).

Tole se zagotovo ni skisalo: This bacon smells a bit funny - do you think it's gone off?
The principal protein of milk casein turns into curd in this acid environment, so another way of describing sour milk is to say it "curdled."
