I am proofing the Spanish versions of a series of signs in a courthouse. This is a sign for the reception desk of a waiting room in the courthouse where the person needs to give his/her name or present the notice they have received from the court. The proposed sign is: Por favor, regístrese aquí. I just don't like it. I want to make it "Favor de presentarse al mostrador." Any other ideas?

Explanation:
Hi Kathleen, I would not try to change the proposed sign, as it is the correct and standard formula.

"Presentarse" and "registrarse" are not synonymous, and you need registrarse for "check in".
Moreover, "aquí" is much clearer and shorter than "en el mostrador" (al mostrador is not correct).
