Volt sorecery or image-sorcery is the kind of sorcery where the injury done to a representation of the victim causes injury to the victim.

I understand that this refers to voodoo practices and such, but I'm bemused by the use of the word "volt" here.

Creo que aquí se refiere precisamente a los efectos de "ida y vuelta" de un daño por medios mágicos. El mal deseado se produce tanto en la victima como en el victimario.
